North Shore Restaurant Adapts to COVID-19 By Creating a Safer Environment and Expanding Online Marketing

Allgauer’s on the Riverfront revamps their restaurant’s online presence to drive traffic in the new COVID-19 world
NORTHBROOK, ILL. – OCTOBER 2020

Allgauer’s on the Riverfront, a family-owned and operated Northbrook favorite, is taking several measures to adapt to COVID-19, including expanding their online approach to marketing. By introducing new online content and making their website more user-friendly, they encourage guests to get to know their beloved family and staff and to dine in or online order this Fall and Winter.

Alongside their marketing efforts, Allgauer’s is coming up with other ways to be innovative during the new COVID-19 world. This includes:
  • All staff members wearing the appropriate PPE, including masks and gloves
  • Offering delivery through Grubhub and Doordash as well as pickup orders
  • Offering disposable utensils and dishes
  • Providing an electro-static sanitizing spray station
  • Sanitizing thoroughly to meet Center for Disease Control (CDC) standards
  • Spacing their tables 6 feet apart
  • Utilizing a no-touch menu
For the cold months, they are focusing on making their outdoor patio a cozy and safe experience, while social distancing their tables inside.

“My favorite thing about our restaurant is its versatility, and I want that to shine online. While our space is great for events or a corporate dining experience, it can also be an everyday dinner night out or a delicious to-go order to enjoy at home,” said Holly Allgauer, who manages Allgauer’s and its connected hotel, the Northbrook Hilton. “Our restaurant has been in our family for over forty years and we are known for having a scenic event space with delicious food, but we have expanded our menu to please a wide variety of guests and occasions.”

Their content marketing makeover will introduce a newly renovated website that is easy to navigate and inclusive of online order options. Additionally, they will embrace social media marketing tactics inclusive of original video and blogs, which will spotlight staff members, favorite menu items, and holiday ideas for baked treats and cocktails.
In addition to their online strategies, Allgauer’s is staying connected to current customers and finding new ones by launching a new mobile program to text customers on specials, new offers or events. This program is being powered by NorthShore Loyalty. To join their new program, simply text RIVERFRONT to 55678.

NORTHBROOK, ILL. – MARCH 2021 – Allgauer’s on the Riverfront, a family-owned Northbrook restaurant known for their scenic ambiance and made-from-scratch menu items, continues to find new ways of ramping up their health and safety measures amid Covid-19 by partnering with AIRPHX (air-fix). AIRPHX is a technology-forward sanitization system that features “cold plasma” chambers intended to kill harmful airborne and surface organisms throughout the day. It is commonly used in hospitals, healthcare facilities, Olympic training centers, universities, police stations and fire stations. The disinfectant solution works quietly and continuously in the background of its location and eliminates 90-98% of coronavirus, E.coli, hepatitis, influenza, listeria, norovirus, salmonella and 30 million common bacteria and viruses in both the air and on surfaces. “The health and safety of our customers is our number one priority,” said Allgauer’s Manager, Holly Allgauer. “We are excited to use this technology in addition to our already-in-place sanitization and cleanliness standards.” Allgauer’s has put in place several practices to maintain safety and wellness for their staff and customers in reaction to the pandemic, including: Requiring all guests to wear masks when not seated. All staff members wear the appropriate PPE, including masks and gloves. Offering disposable utensils and dishes. Providing an electro-static sanitizing spray station. Sanitizing thoroughly to meet Center of Disease Control (CDC) standards. Spacing tables 6 feet apart. Utilizing a no-touch menu.
